For our Compliance Department at the regional headquarters, we are looking for a

 

Compliance & Risk Management Counsel (f/m/div).

About the role

The company’s compliance department is responsible for operating and overseeing the regional group’s compliance management systems and for supporting approximately 65 affiliated companies in accordance with the global headquarters’ (Tokyo) direction and strategy. In addition, the department has been responding to increasing levels of regulation in areas such as ESG, product compliance and data governance.

 

Embedded in Fujifilm’s existing compliance and risk management structures, this new role will focus on supporting the expanding ESG Division as well as various product compliance and quality management teams. The new Compliance & Risk Management Counsel will contribute to the integration of ESG/Sustainability-related rules and principles as well as systematic product compliance into Fujifilm Europe’s decision-making and business processes.

You will directly report to the company’s Chief Compliance Officer or to a senior team member designated by him.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support on ESG/Sustainability-related topics as well as on product compliance to regional and local entities and business teams, including regarding non-financial reporting obligations.
  • Monitor applicable ESG/Sustainability-related legal and product regulatory developments and provide intelligence services in these areas; study and analyse relevant current and future laws, regulations and industry standards (such as Green Deal, CSDDD, PFAS, etc.)
  • Identify applicable obligations for Fujifilm companies and translate them into business-pragmatic compliance decisions, policies, programs and processes in cooperation with responsible management, corporate, legal and business teams
  • Develop into a compliance expert resource for all ESG/Sustainability-related and product compliance-related activities at FUJIFILM Europe GmbH
  • Support ESG/Sustainability-related and product compliance activities of regional affiliates
  • Draft, review, standardize ESG/Sustainability-related and product compliance clauses in commercial agreements with customers and suppliers
  • Develop and deliver trainings and awareness-raising communications addressing ESG/ Sustainability-related and product compliance topics tailored to various relevant audiences
  • Collaborate with other corporate functions, regional and global headquarters on cross-company, interdisciplinary projects and initiatives
  • Support the regional communications, product compliance and business teams to ensure compliant and ESG/Sustainability-compatible advertising
  • Instruct, coordinate and supervise external legal advisors within the frameworks existing at the legal and compliance departments.

Qualifications

You have a high calibre professional legal background, with three to five years relevant post-qualified practical experience in a multinational law firm and/or corporation. You are a fully qualified attorney, preferably with bar admission, and offer the following skills and experience:

  • Solid experience with business-pragmatic application and interpretation of EU and national European legislation
  • Interest in ESG and risk management
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to identify, prevent and manage legal and compliance risks
  • Good English presentation and communication skills both verbally and in writing; other language skills are welcome
  • Impeccable level of personal integrity and high ethical standards
  • Good understanding of commercial objectives and competitive environment
  • Understanding of the meaning and significance of compliance management systems
  • Good knowledge of IT applications (MS365 etc.) and good technical skills
  • High degree of professionalism, dedication, and self-motivation to excel in an international environment and ability to work proactively and under pressure
  • Team spirit and cross-cultural awareness. Ability to effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and different functions at all levels throughout the organization.
